Choosing the best chiropractic table for your practice is one of the largest equipment decisions you will make. Most buyers focus on technique compatibility, feature sets, and purchase price — all legitimate factors. But there is one dimension that tends to get underweighted until something goes wrong: how serviceable is this table, and what does it actually cost to keep it running over a five or ten-year lifespan?
As a biomedical equipment service company working with chiropractic practices across Central Texas, we see these tables from the maintenance side. This comparison covers five of the most commonly encountered chiropractic adjusting tables — Lloyd Galaxy, Hill Labs HA90C, Leander 950, Zenith/PHS, and Elite — evaluated on the factors that affect long-term serviceability: drive system complexity, parts availability, upholstery durability, and common failure points.
This is not a ranking. Every table on this list has a legitimate place depending on your technique focus, patient volume, and budget. The goal is to give you a clearer picture of what you are committing to before you buy.
What Makes a Chiropractic Table Easy or Hard to Service
Before the table-by-table breakdown, it helps to understand what actually drives maintenance cost and complexity. The main variables are:
- Drive system type: Hydraulic systems are powerful and long-lasting but require fluid checks and are more involved to repair when seals fail. Electric motor systems are more common in newer tables and generally easier to diagnose, but motor and control board failures can be expensive. Manual and mechanical systems have fewer components to fail and are typically the most straightforward to service.
- Parts availability: For major brands, third-party parts suppliers stock springs, switches, pedals, drop mechanisms, and upholstery panels. For smaller or discontinued lines, sourcing parts can add significant time and cost to any repair.
- Upholstery durability: Table upholstery is one of the highest-wear components in a chiropractic practice. Material quality, thickness, and how well it resists disinfectant chemicals all affect how long it lasts before cracking or tearing.
- Drop mechanism design: Drop sections are the most commonly serviced component on adjusting tables. Spring tension, cocking mechanism wear, and drop travel are all maintenance items that accumulate with patient volume.
“The tables that give practices the fewest headaches over time are usually the ones where replacement parts are easy to get and the repair procedures are well documented. Brand matters less than knowing what you are getting into before you buy.”

Lloyd Galaxy Hylo
Lloyd has been manufacturing chiropractic tables since 1963 and is one of the largest dedicated chiropractic table manufacturers in the world. The Galaxy Hylo is their flagship product and one of the most widely used high-end tables in active practice.
Drive system and maintenance
The Galaxy runs on a hydraulic pump and motor system. Per Lloyd’s own service documentation, the system requires hydraulic fluid checks on a yearly basis using Lubriplate HO1 hydraulic oil, and six-month lubrication of all pivot points and metal-to-metal sliding mechanisms. Hydraulic seals are the most common long-term failure point, and seal replacement is a routine service item for experienced technicians.
Parts availability
Lloyd maintains strong third-party parts support. Springs, pedals, switches, drop mechanism components, and upholstery panels are widely stocked through multiple suppliers. The Galaxy’s long production run means parts documentation is mature and accessible.
Upholstery
Lloyd uses Naugahyde with Advanced BeautyGuard on many Galaxy configurations. The material is specifically formulated to withstand disinfectant chemicals including sodium hypochlorite, which is a meaningful durability advantage in high-turnover practices.
Common service items
- Hydraulic fluid level and leak inspection
- Six-month lubrication of all pivot points
- Drop spring tension adjustment and cocking mechanism wear
- Hydraulic seal replacement over time
- Control switch and foot pedal replacement
Hill Labs HA90C
Hill Laboratories has been producing chiropractic tables since 1945. The HA90C is their most popular drop table and is widely found in practices across technique types.
Drive system and maintenance
The HA90C uses an electric motor for height adjustment with manual drop sections. The electric drive is generally straightforward to diagnose and service. Hill offers a searchable service contractor network and detailed product support documentation, which makes local service accessible for most markets.
Parts availability
Hill maintains an active parts catalog and good third-party support. Their Finesse microfiber upholstery is proprietary and should be sourced directly or through authorized suppliers. Mechanical drop components are available through major chiropractic equipment parts suppliers.
Upholstery
Hill’s Finesse microfiber material is described by Hill as outlasting traditional vinyl by three to four times. It is puncture-resistant and has a texture closer to leather than vinyl, and is standard on HA90C models. The tradeoff is that it is a proprietary material, so replacement panels need to come from Hill or an authorized source rather than generic upholstery suppliers.
Common service items
- Electric motor and height control inspection
- Drop section spring tension and cocking mechanism
- Headpiece and section cushion hardware
- Foot switch and control board
- Upholstery inspection and replacement
Leander 950
Leander is best known in the flexion-distraction space and the 950 is their primary product for practices that use that technique as a core part of their care model.
Drive system and maintenance
The Leander 950 uses an electric motor for automatic flexion-distraction. The motorized flexion mechanism is quiet by design, which contributes to patient comfort, but it adds electrical components that manual flexion tables do not have. Motor wear and control board issues are the service items that accumulate most on automated flexion tables over time.
Parts availability
Leander parts are stocked through several third-party chiropractic equipment suppliers. The 950’s long production history and strong market presence mean parts availability is reasonably good, though less broad than Lloyd or Zenith due to smaller overall market share.
Upholstery
The 950 uses standard vinyl upholstery. It is functional and easy to source replacements for, but higher-volume practices may find it shows wear faster than premium material alternatives.
Common service items
- Electric flexion motor and drive mechanism
- Control board and speed controller
- Drop section springs and cocking mechanism if equipped
- Upholstery, especially at high-contact flex points
- Foot pedal switches
“Flexion-distraction tables with motorized drives are excellent for technique precision and doctor ergonomics, but they have more electrical components than a straight manual drop table. That is not a reason not to buy one — it just means factoring in electrical service as part of the ownership cost.”

Zenith / Pivotal Health Solutions (PHS)
Zenith is one of the longest-standing names in chiropractic tables and is now manufactured under the Pivotal Health Solutions brand. These tables are a common presence in established practices and are known for straightforward mechanical construction.
Drive system and maintenance
Most Zenith and PHS drop tables use manual or mechanical systems without powered height adjustment. This keeps the component count low and makes service more predictable. There is less to go wrong electrically, and technicians familiar with mechanical drop systems can address most issues efficiently.
Parts availability
Zenith has among the strongest parts availability of any chiropractic table brand. Multiple suppliers stock Zenith replacement components and the design has been consistent enough across production runs that many parts are interchangeable across table generations.
Upholstery
Standard vinyl is typical across the Zenith and PHS line. It is widely available and easy to source replacements for from multiple suppliers, which keeps upholstery repair and replacement costs manageable.
Common service items
- Drop section spring tension and wear
- Cocking mechanism and release adjustment
- Frame bolt inspection and tightening
- Upholstery replacement
- Foot pedal and manual control components
Elite
Elite Chiropractic Tables has been manufacturing in the United States for over 50 years and markets heavily on longevity and build quality. Their tables are positioned as career-length investments and are often found in practices run by chiropractors who have been in operation for many years.
Drive system and maintenance
Elite tables are primarily manual and mechanical, though some models include electric height adjustment. The manual configurations have low component complexity, which typically translates to predictable maintenance needs and easier field service.
Parts availability
Elite parts are available through third-party suppliers, though coverage is not as broad as Lloyd or Zenith. Elite’s reputation for longevity means that some practices run these tables for 15 or more years, so parts sourcing for older models can occasionally require some lead time.
Upholstery
Elite uses medical-grade vinyl across their line. It is durable, widely sourceable, and handles standard clinical disinfection protocols reliably.
Common service items
- Drop mechanism springs and tension adjustment
- Upholstery at high-wear sections
- Frame and hardware inspection
- Electric motor and controls on powered models
- Headpiece hardware and adjustment mechanisms
Serviceability as a Buying Factor: What to Ask Before You Purchase
Regardless of which table you are considering, these questions are worth getting clear answers on before you commit:
- Are replacement parts available through multiple suppliers, or only through the manufacturer? Single-source parts create price and availability risk over the table’s lifespan.
- Does the manufacturer have a documented service contractor network? Tables from brands with active service networks are easier to support locally when issues arise.
- Is there a service manual or technical documentation available to independent technicians? Well-documented tables are faster and less expensive to service.
- What is the upholstery material and how is it sourced for replacement? Proprietary materials can be excellent but should be factored into long-term maintenance planning.
- What is the recommended lubrication and inspection schedule? Tables with clear manufacturer guidance on maintenance intervals are easier to keep on a preventive schedule.
A preventive maintenance plan for your chiropractic tables should be part of the purchasing conversation, not an afterthought. Most powered chiropractic tables benefit from annual inspection of electrical components, lubrication of mechanical systems, and drop mechanism calibration. Catching wear during a scheduled visit is significantly less disruptive than discovering it mid-adjustment day.
Consider Texas Medical Equipment Repair
Each of the five tables in this comparison has real strengths. Lloyd Galaxy is the most versatile and best-supported hydraulic option. Hill Labs HA90C is a proven drop table with strong documentation and parts access. Leander 950 is the reference standard for flexion-distraction practices. Zenith and PHS are mechanically simple with excellent parts availability. Elite is built for longevity with low-complexity construction.
The serviceability differences between them are meaningful over a five or ten-year ownership horizon but not dramatic enough to override technique fit or clinical preference. The most important thing is going in with clear expectations about what the table requires and having a service plan in place from the start.
